How to Search
Registered Migration Agent

When planning to migrate abroad — whether for work, study, or permanent residency — choosing the right migration agent is one of the most important steps. A registered migration agent can guide you through complex visa processes, help prepare documents, and ensure your application meets official standards.

Unfortunately, many people fall victim to fraudulent agents who make false promises. That’s why it’s crucial to verify and choose only a registered migration agent.

Step - 1

Visit the Official Registeration Authority:

Every country maintains an official register of licensed migration agents.

  • For Australia: Visit the OMARA website (Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority).

  • For Canada: Check the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).

  • For the UK: Look up on the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).

  • For New Zealand: Use the Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA).

Simply enter the agent’s name, registration number, or business name to confirm if they are officially registered.

Step - 2

Check Their Registration Number:

A genuine migration agent will have a valid registration/license number issued by the respective authority.

  • Ask for their registration number.

  • Cross-check it on the official website.

  • Check the agent’s status (active, expired, or suspended).

⚠️ If they can’t provide a registration number, that’s a red flag.

Step - 3

Reviews Their Professional History:

On the official register, you can often see details like:

  • How long they’ve been registered

  • Their business address

  • Any past disciplinary actions or complaints

  • Languages they speak and services they offer

Step - 4

Do Independent Background Checks:

Beyond official verification, it’s smart to do your own research:

  • Check their Google reviews or testimonials.

  • Visit their office location to confirm it’s legitimate.

  • Ask for references from past clients.

  • Verify if they provide written agreements and official receipts.

Step - 5

Understand Your Rights as a Client:

When you work with a registered migration agent, you are protected by official codes of conduct.
A genuine agent will:

  • Give you honest advice about your eligibility.

  • Provide transparent fee structures.

  • Keep you updated on your application progress.

  • Never make false promises like “guaranteed visa approval.”
